It is difficult for dog lovers to comprehend why someone would want to intentionally hurt an innocent animal. There’s no logical reason for the horrible things that certain people do. This is the tale of Spencer, a depressed dog who spent his first year of life being mistreated severely.
Spencer is a sweet Doberman who was struck by a car and found on the side of the road in South Carolina. He was found stalking roadkill for his consumption by strolling alongside the road.
Fortunately, some kind people in Columbia, South Carolina, took Spencer to Paws & Claws. The personnel at the veterinarian could readily see Spencer’s members. His back was fractured, most likely as a result of the car collision.
Employees could also see that he had a poor ear crop, clearly done at home. Additionally, x-rays were performed on him, and the results showed that he had a group of sharp bird bones stuck in his stomach. These were going to split apart his gut! He also had to have stitches for gashes on his legs and head!
It was clear that Spencer had been abused, but he had either escaped or been abandoned on the street, where he had to fend for himself and make an effort to survive. They learned some wonderful news with the assistance of the VCA Animal Specialty Centre of South Carolina. Spencer was so small that he would be OK. Even though he was still able to feel his legs, they were hopeful that surgery would help his spine repair and restore his ability to walk.
Thankfully, his back operation went well, and he was soon relearning how to walk. The veterinarians also noticed that his stomach’s bones were beginning to slide through securely on their own. Everything seemed to be going along as it should.
With the assistance of compassionate staff members and physical therapy, he is currently recovering. He’s traveling at a really fast pace! Before they knew it, he was able to walk without the use of a sling after starting to walk with complete assistance. He can now stand on his own and is back to his former self! He’s a wonderful dog that is youthful, happy, and generally healthy. He wants to have a wonderful life.
Update: Spencer’s forever home has been found!
