This adorable puppy, Belinha, has been devoted to her mistress, Telma Maria, for the previous four years. Though their time together has recently been cut short, Belinha still adores her owner.
After a protracted battle with cancer, Maria, a resident of Brazil, passed away earlier this month. Belinha never left her side during her trying fight and deteriorating health, and the comforting dog’s presence helped Maria feel better.
Dionisio Neto, Maria’s son, wrote on the internet, “My mother said she was her nurse.” “Belinha was the most loyal companion.”
It was only fitting that Belinha would attend Maria’s burial considering how significant she was to her. Belinha sat meekly with other family members as if she understood the seriousness of the sorrowful gathering.
But the event that followed had the biggest effect on Maria’s kid.
Everyone was shocked when Belinha stayed at Maria’s side for the remainder of the service—just as she had done every time Maria was alive. Neto wrote that she wished to capture those intimate encounters on camera.
“Love is unconditional in animals.”
After the wedding, Belinha didn’t stop crying; she would often cry over Maria’s absence. Therefore, Neto and a few family members decided to show Belinha where her closest friend currently resides in the hopes of providing the dog with some comfort; the visit seemed to calm Belinha.
Even though Belinha hadn’t been present when Maria was buried, she tore free from her leash at the cemetery and ran straight to her grave. Neto expressed his gratitude to the newspaper Estadão for witnessing the continued strong attachment between his mother and her dog.
“My mother shows me that love is not exclusive to individuals, even in death.” Animal love has more power than most people realize, as demonstrated by my mother and Belinha.
Belinha’s heart will eventually start to mend as she knows Maria is never far away. Belinha will not have to go through the grieving process alone because she now has a lifetime home with Neto.
