Luckily, on November 30 in Sumter, South Carolina, the local police and firefighters jumped in to save him from his peculiar situation.

The touching tale of Spike, a dog that became lodged in a wall while in the care of his owner’s grandma, Drusilla Harvin, was posted on the Facebook page of the Sumter Police Department. When she failed to liberate Spike on her own, she went for assistance.

Thank goodness, Sumter Fire Department and Police Department personnel showed up on the site. Together, they took their time taking the wall apart, leaving enough room for Spike to squeeze out. The committed responders were seen on camera during the roughly hour-long rescue operation.
