The devoted dog initially gave the impression that she was lamenting the death of her owner, but the real reason for her behavior was rather remarkable.

It was heartwarming and puzzling to see this loyal dog keeping watch close to a grave amid the gravestones and seriousness of the cemetery. What may have motivated her to devote herself to this extent?

As it turned out, the reality was considerably more astounding than anyone could have predicted. Instead of using the tomb as her last resting place, the terrified German Shepherd had excavated a hole beneath it for her small puppies to hide. That’s true, she was a mother determined to keep her children safe.
