Ghost is a K9 that is the newest dual-purpose officer of the Glynn County Georgia Police Department.
He has been training for months at Highland Canine Training, LLC in Harmony, North Carolina, alongside his human partner, Officer Garza.
Chief of Police Battiste knelt and repeated a vow to the Belgian Malinois puppy, swearing him in.
During his swearing-in ceremony, K9 Ghost was unable to conceal his joy.
Chief Battiste says to the K9 Officer, “I, Ghost, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will uphold the Constitution of the United States. Repeat after me, Officer Ghost.”
Although it’s unclear if Ghost was paying attention, he started to scent the document and was probably searching for some snacks.
The dog then makes a grab for the chief’s insignia that was hanging around his neck before becoming excited and wanting to play by crawling all over him.
K9 Ghost even laid on his back once in an attempt to receive belly massages.
Although it didn’t bother him, Battiste made an effort not to chuckle so he could finish the pledge.
When he was finally done, he requested K9 Ghost to bark to show that he had comprehended the oath. Ghost didn’t bark, but another dog did when given the order to do so.
Ghost was still far too preoccupied with playing goofy and chasing for the chief’s hand. Considering his age, Ghost can be considered a puppy!
Despite his youth and silly ways, Ghost will undoubtedly excel in his career and contribute to the community.
Best wishes, Ghost, K9 Officer!
