She was devastated by the sign. Patrick, the homeless man, was standing there in need of assistance. He was not requesting food or cash for himself. He was pleading for assistance for his closest friend. An angel showed up to help this man when he needed it.
Despite popular disapproval, many homeless people have pets. It’s not up for argument here. There should only be a disagreement when a homeless person endangers their pet; this is not often the case. They make sacrifices to provide their pet with a steady diet, adequate shelter, and warmth.
Houston, Texas resident Wilma Frice saw someone holding a sign that said, “Dog in pound, need help,” outside of Walmart.
The sign had broken her heart. There by himself was Patrick, a homeless man in need of assistance. He was not asking for food or cash for himself. He was searching for assistance for Franklin, his best friend, who was in the pound due to a lack of funds ($120) to release him.

Pricee told People.com, “He seemed like a nice, gentle soul who just happened to have a hard life.” His eyes were filled with desperation, like that of a big child who had recently lost his dog.
Once Patrick received the money from Wilma, he posted the following on Facebook. As said in her post:
“He is a wonderful man, and Franklin is a wonderful dog, so I’m shocked that I’m homeless.” I committed my life to helping homeless animals, therefore I did this because I would want someone to do it for me. I am not a very judgmental person and I never judge someone by the cover of their book because you never know what somebody’s going through until you walk in their shoes. I know how hard I work every day to make sure the animals have everything they need and will never end up on the streets again while they wait for their forever home, and I have been blessed in my life with unconditional love for all the homeless animals. We all could be in each other’s blink of an eye.”
