Rain has affected many people with his sobbing German Shepherd, who is known to cry whenever someone comes to him for help. A tale that also illustrates how an animal’s perspective on the world may be completely altered and psychologically scarred by recollections of mistreatment.
Dogs that have experienced trauma no longer see the world as a place where they can be happy and loved; instead, they see everything as having darkened and being frightening. They also have little hope for a better life and no longer trust men.
Rain, a German Shepherd dog, sends forth cries as you approach him.
For several days, the dog had been hiding behind a van, clinging to the wall behind the vehicle to keep from being discovered. The severe shivers he was experiencing were uncontrollable. Thus, the community decided to act.
The neighbors informed “Hope For Paws,” an animal rights NGO. Then volunteers showed up to help the dog. They tried to get close to him by displaying him the burger, thinking that would make him curious. Rain, though, was paralysed with terror.
The German Shepherd then let forth an unbearable scream. Because he doesn’t trust the rescuers, the dog was trying to get them to go. They knew it would be challenging to treat this ill canine. One of the rescuers, Loreta, was aware of the dog’s challenging past.
It’s hard to imagine the kind of mistreatment this puppy may have endured. Such a howl has never been heard by rescuers from an animal before. They were terribly in need. To make matters worse, rain seeped out from under the car and took up even more space. He wanted to create distance.
On the plus side, Loreta stood on one side of the net as the rescue team set it up, trying to get Rain’s attention. And at last, it was successful! After being captured, the dog started to cry out once again because he was afraid of what would happen. He was bracing himself for catastrophe.
After being taken to a veterinary clinic for a health check and seeing that no one wanted to harm him, Rain stopped crying and eventually calmed down. The dog was quickly sent to a veterinary clinic for a health check. He finally developed coping mechanisms for his trauma. Furthermore, the dog was getting better every day.
As Rain warmed up, he was able to place himself with a foster family in the interim until he could find a permanent home. His new moniker, “Sassy Pants Dunbar,” perfectly captures his amazing disposition.
We hope that this happy ending for this German Shepherd will last forever.
