A mother dog and her two puppies were found lying by the side of the road for a few days after being abandoned outside, according to a call that the Dog Rescue Shelter in Mladenovac, Serbia, received.

The mother dog was fiercely protective of her puppies and wouldn’t let anyone near them, even when the Good Samaritans attempted to feed them.
She was trying to protect her children by hiding with them in the grass near the road when rescuers arrived. She was waiting for her owners to come get her.
Sadly, though, they never would.
She remained kind and eager to accept any food that they offered her since, happily, she knew that the rescuers had come to aid her.
After putting Mama’s dog and her two puppies in their car, they made one last trip to the lawn to make sure there were no more babies left.
To their surprise, they found another one in the grass a short distance from the mother. The puppies had not yet opened their eyes and were just a few days old.
Fortunately, the four of them were returned to their rescue just in time for their rescue.
The mama, Moli, has done a fantastic job raising her offspring. Instead of being abandoned on the side of the road, she is relieved and content to be in capable hands and to be sleeping in a cozy bed.
The shelter will look after the young family until they are ready to be adopted.
