On November 5, Benki was left behind in Lara, Venezuela. He had lost his right back leg and was blind.
Additionally, Benki showed signs of sexual assault, which is common in male dogs from “puppy farms” or “puppy mills.” Essentially, when a dog is no longer “productive” in earning money, its parents abandon it.
Benki was able to avoid running back since they could blind him, but as he did, something struck him and severed his right back leg.
Benki suffered a significant emotional effect, which is a major concern, but thankfully the X-ray shows no significant internal injuries.
Not used to be blind, he became disoriented easily and cried out loud. The veterinarian talked to him a lot in an attempt to soothe him.
He’s a smart, well-developed dog, which is good news.
He is now a completely typical dog. Benki gained a lot of weight because he didn’t work out. However, at this point, his foster is making every effort to make him feel “secure.” Give him unconditional love and support as he ascends and descends the shelter’s stairs.
He’s still working on finding himself a new, long-term romantic home.
